Klaus Larsen LLC Case Studies: Roof & Skylight Replacement in Brooklyn, CT
Challenge
The homeowners reached out to Klaus Larsen Roofing because 3 skylights were leaking. This L shaped ranch has a cathedral ceiling in the living room which is very unique. The homeowners were looking to replace the skylights. The roof was also 14 years old and showing its age.
Solution
After removing two layers of existing roofing materials, the Klaus Larsen crew replaced all of the damaged plywood decking. Three rows of Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water was installed. Three, new Velux FS Skylights were installed. A brown, aluminum drip edge/rake flashing was installed along the entire perimeter of the roof. An Owens Corning VentSure Ridge Vent was installed, which comes with a moisture barrier, ensuring extra protection. Owens Corning Duration TruDefinition shingles, in the color of Slatestone Gray, were used.
