This home in Norwich, Connecticut was suffering from a leaky skylight and old worn out shingles. To begin this job, we removed the existing layer of roofing material. Afterwards we cleared away all debris and used a magnetic roller to ensure that there were no loose nails in the homeowner's lawn. Next we inspected the plywood decking, and found that 10 sheets of plywood were visibly damaged and in need of a replacement. With the decking process finished, we installed two rows of IKO Gold Shield Ice & Water Barrier. At the seams we installed a 4" self-adhering flashing tape and installed a synthetic underlayment to ensure protection from the elements. For shingles, we installed a Klaus Roofing System using IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles in the Castle Grey colorway. To finish the job, we installed a Shingle Vent II ridge vent that ensures the home's attic is well ventilated. This home is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
The Klaus Larsen team was able to take on this wonderful opportunity! The Uncas Condominiums in Norwich, CT needed a roof replacement, all 14 units! After tearing off the old layer of shingles, the Klaus Larsen team got to work with replacing the old plywood and adding 3 rows of Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water to the roof before laying down the shingles! The shingles used were Duration TruDefinition Shingles in the color of Desert Tan!

This home in Norwich had parts of the roof replaced with Owens Corning Duration shingles. The rest was left with outdated 3-tab shingles. The 3-tab roof was very old and the owners knew it was time to get it replaced. Not only were we able to replace the damaged part of roof in one day but we were able to get the entire roof to match perfectly. We knew the newer section of the roof was Owens Corning Duration because of it's iconic SureNail strip. This is a nylon strip that Owens Corning installed into their shingle. It provides an extra thickness to the shingles and helps identify the right location for the nails. Now the entire roof is fully protected and is ready to protect the home again!
