The owner of this home in Berlin had an old roof that began leaking and he couldn't wait for the spring to get it replaced. Many roofers can't do a roof replacement in the winter because they don't have the know-how or experience. Our crews are experienced winter roofers and in the middle of February, we replaced this roof with new Onyx Black Duration shingles.

At this 1960's ranch home located in Berlin, CT we completely replaced the existing old roof. To keep out moisture and ice we installed Owens Corning Weatherlock G Ice & Water shield on top of the plywood decking. Then, we put on new Owens Corning Duration Shingles in the color Onyx Black. To ensure proper ventilation we installed 2 new vent pipe boots and a new bathroom exhaust vent hood with a built-in damper on the roof above the left side of the bathroom. This home also needed a new VentSure Ridge Vent to give ventilation to the attic.

Job Stories From Berlin, CT
Roof Replacement in Kensington, CT

These owners in Kensington, which is part of Berlin, called us out to inspect their roof. They heard about us from a friend who had gotten their roof replaced a few years ago. Along with the roof there we several details that needed our careful attention. First, they needed the skylight replaced, new fascia board on the addition, and gutter covers for the rear of the house. When our sales rep came out to give the estimate, he was able to put every concern on the contract. The roof was torn off and the new Velux skylight was installed with purpose made skylight flashing. Next, We installed 9 feet of Ice & Water barrier on the roof and around the skylight. Any exposed plywood was then covered with synthetic underlayment before the Owens Corning Duration shingles (Color: Slatestone Gray) were nailed. Next, we replaced the damaged fascia board with a Kleer fascia board. Kleer is a composite material and the owners were able to paint it to match their house. Lastly, the Leaf Relief gutter guards were installed on the existing gutters. The roof is done and all the details fulfilled as promised.

Had four asphalt shingles blow off my roof (two on back/ two on front) and would like to get a price to get them repaired. I have a bundle of shingles that my builder gave to me that could be used for the repair. Could also provide pictures if you would like. Thank you. Mike Long

I'm looking for an estimate on a new roof. Double tear, cutting in ridge vent, re-pitching existing gutters, possibly wrapping soffits. I'm looking to have this done within the next month or 2. Call me with any questions, thanks.
Worthington Ridge in Berlin
We have a one-piece flat roof over a two-room dormer. The edges of the roof are loose and can blow slightly in a strong wind. This may be the cause of rare water intrusion. Also - some of the nails holding the plywood beneath are rising. I (think I) wish to fold the roof back one side/section at a time and re-attach the plywood (remove nails/add screws?) and re-attach flat roof. Roofing material appears sound. Thank you!
