The owner of this lovely one-family Cape home in Cobalt had purchased this home months before calling Klaus Larsen Roofing. An inspector informed them that they were due for a new roof, as it was growing moss and mold. There was a layer of existing asphalt roofing that we removed and disposed of. There were 3 damaged sheets of plywood decking on the roof decking that we replaced. We then inspected the rest of the wooden roof deck and re-secured all the decking as needed, using ring-shank plywood nails. Two rows of Ice & Water Barrier were then installed in order to protect the home from rain and snow. To provide additional weather protection, we installed a Synthetic Underlayment on the areas of decking that were not covered by the Ice & Water Barrier. Brown F5 aluminum drip edges and rake flashings were installed along the entire outside perimeter of the roof.
When it came down to shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System using IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles. The homeowner chose the Dual Brown colorway to best compliment the appearance of his Cape-style home. A ridge vent was installed to maintain consistent attic ventilhation. To finish up this project, we replaced the existing vent pipe boot. This cozy Cape in Cobalt is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
