Before & After
Pam in Greenville, RI, a returning customer, reached out after experiencing water coming into her home through electrical outlets during heavy ice damming. Since we had completed her roof a few years ago, we knew the issue was likely related to heat loss and insulation in the attic. After a full evaluation, the best solution was a complete attic insulation upgrade. Our team began by removing all existing batt insulation and sections of old plywood to fully open up the bays and clean out the space properly. This allowed us to address air leaks and prepare the attic for a more effective insulation system. Around the HVAC components, we applied spray foam to help seal and protect those areas. At the transition point between the two attic spaces near the scuttle, we installed SilverGlo to reduce heat loss and improve overall efficiency. To make the space more functional for the homeowner, we also built insulated storage platforms using 8x24 deck panels, giving Pam a clean and usable area for storage. As part of the process, we carefully removed old items, including a mattress and stored boxes, while preserving anything she wanted to keep. With the attic properly sealed and insulated, Pam’s home is now better equipped to prevent ice dams and stay comfortable year-round. The Klaus Roofing Way!
