Margot in Granby, CT owns a beautiful barn that had just started leaking, and she knew she needed to act quickly to protect the structure from further damage. Wanting to preserve the barn for years to come, she reached out to Klaus Larsen Roofing for a professional opinion. After meeting with one of our Project Consultants and going over her options, Margot decided a full roof replacement was the best long-term solution. At Klaus Larsen Roofing, we believe in doing things the right way from the very start. That’s why we stripped the roof down to the plywood, allowing us to inspect the decking and make sure everything underneath was solid. From there, we installed our full roofing system, complete with SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield in all the most vulnerable areas and VeloraOne Roof Underlayment across the rest of the roof for leak protection. Now, Margot’s barn has a fresh, durable roof built to stand the test of time. The Klaus Roofing Way!
Darren at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Uncasville, CT, reached out to us for help with the school building's roof. The TPO roofing system had started to fail in the valleys and straight runs, where water collects and puts the most stress on the material. This led to visible wear, pooling, and damage that needed immediate attention. A full roof replacement with a tapered system would be the best long-term solution, but for now, repairs were necessary to prevent further water infiltration and protect the building.
Our crew carefully removed the damaged TPO in the valleys and straight runs, disposing of all debris from the project. We then installed new TPO directly on the decking in these problem areas, splicing into the existing TPO for a seamless repair. The process included details like form flashing at all roof-to-wall intersections, TPO cover tape, and T-patches to strengthen vulnerable spots. These steps ensure the roof will hold up better against future weather. The result is a much cleaner and reinforced roof system that addresses the most urgent issues. This solution gives the church much-needed peace of mind until a full replacement is considered.
This ranch style home in Scotland, CT was in need of a roof replacement. After tearing off one layer of existing roofing material, we replaced all damaged or rotted sheets of plywood decking. We then installed 2 rows of ice & water barrier near all eaves, valleys, chimneys etc. We also taped all roof deck joints with flashing tape, in accordance with the recent building codes. In terms of shingles, we installed IKO Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the color Earthtone Cedar. Lastly, we removed the existing chimney flashing and replaced it with brand new lead flashing.
