We then installed IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Summit Grey, known for their durability and wind resistance. Every shingle was secured with ring shank nails for extra holding power. The flashing here was in remiss, allowing water to seep in and cause damage. This late 50s era home in Colchester, CT had water leakage in several rooms. There was also issues with insulation between the dormer and the roof. We disposed of two layers of old shingles and replaced the rotted decking with new CDX plywood. The entire front shed roof deck was restored with Mule Hide purpose made flat roofing. Updated vents, flashing and a carefully preserved roof mounted satellite dish made this project a success.
