The roof was over 15 years old, a few shingles were slipping out of place, and there was a lot of moss and weathering across the surface. After we inspected the home and walked him through what we found, Vladimir decided that a full roof replacement would be the best long-term fix instead of patching small areas. Our team replaced the entire roofing system and installed four new skylights. We first replaced any damaged plywood decking and laid down our Klaus Larsen Roofing SealoronXT Ice & Water self-sealing membrane to create a moisture barrier between the decking and the shingles. For even more protection, we install our own Velora One Underlayment, a high performance synthetic underlayment designed to protect the home in even the most severe weather. For new asphalt shingles for this home, we installed IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles featuring a 1-1/4" nailing area made with a tough reinforcing woven band for incredible nail-holding power to protect the home against Mother Nature's fury. With the roofing system aging and the home still built with original plank decking in certain areas, the goal was to upgrade the roof properly and improve long-term performance.

As part of the project, our crew installed new CDX plywood across the entire second-story roof to create a stronger and more stable foundation for the new roofing system. This step helps improve the overall durability of the roof and provides a solid surface beneath the shingles.

To help the home ventilate properly, we also installed AirFlow Complete intake ventilation along all eaves of the second-story roof. Proper airflow is important for reducing trapped heat and moisture in the attic, which can help prevent issues such as mold, premature shingle aging, and ice dams during the winter months.

The new roofing system was built using SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield in vulnerable areas, VeloraONE Roof Underlayment across the roof deck, and SealoronXT Deck Tape to protect the seams between the plywood. The project was finished with shingles in the color Summit Gray, giving the home a fresh updated appearance while providing dependable long-term protection.
