Douglas in Enfield, CT, decided it was time to replace his aging roof and invest in a roofing system built for long-term performance. For this project, Douglas selected our Signature Roof System, which is backed by a 30-year warranty and includes upgraded protection beneath the shingles. As part of the installation, vulnerable roof areas were protected with SealoronXT Ice & Water Shield, while VeloraONE Roof Underlayment was installed across the roof deck to provide an additional layer of defense against wind-driven rain and moisture. SealoronXT Deck Tape was also applied over the roof deck seams to help protect these critical joints from water intrusion.
Once the roof system was prepared, our crew installed new IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Brownstone. The rich, warm tone gave the home a refreshed appearance and added to its curb appeal while providing durable protection from the Connecticut weather. With the project finished, the home is now protected by multiple layers of defense and backed by a 30-year warranty that provides confidence for years to come. The Klaus Roofing Way!
Some jobs have unexpected obstacles, like on this house in Portland. Upon removing the old roof, we found a gaping hole in the original construction. This required a full underlying structure rebuild to make it all one plane. With a foundation now providing support underneath, the finished roof turned out fantastic and much sturdier. We understand that every roof is different, and at Klaus Larsen we are always willing to adapt to unforeseen issues.
A successful roofing job is about installing a functional, long lasting structure that serves to protect the home. However, the appearance of your house isn't ignored by any means. This Portland, CT property looks stunningly new with the simple addition of a new roof. From 'Aged Cedar' to 'Twilight Black,' we're sure to have something in store to fit your aesthetic needs.
Originally known for its brownstone quarries and shipbuilding, Portland is one of Connecticut's most historically rich cities, and is one of many towns we've brought our craft to. This project entailed the tear off and recycling of one layer of shingles, followed by the installation of a roofing system. The underlayment we use is completely resistant to tear, and provides an extremely water tight seal. We are very proud of this job!
Twenty years had gone by since this Gambrel style roof in Portland, CT was replaced. This type of construction dates back to the late 1600s and is perfect for providing more living space and for accommodating future additions. For this job we installed Ice & Water ahead of the drip edge, before extending it to wrap under the fascia. The existing gutter straps were reinstalled under Estate Gray shingles, as part of a complete OC roofing system.
