This ranch-style home built in the mid 1960s desperately needed a new roof replacement. From the outside, you could see that some of the plywood was buckling underneath the existing shingles. To start we stripped the existing roofing materials and replaced 8 full sheets of plywood decking. Then, we laid down G Ice & Water Shield to protect the interior of the home from any outside moisture. For shingles, we installed TruDefiniton Duration Shingles in the color Quarry Gray. In any home, it is important to have ventilation int he attic so that no moisture or mold builds up. To ensure top-notch consistent attice ventilation we installed a VentSure Ridge Vent.
The attic in this Storrs, CT Colonial was stifling. We found that faulty ventilation within the old roof was to blame for an overly hot and unlivable third floor. This home also experienced serious ice dams in the winter time, which are a sure indicator of poor air flow in the roof line. We installed a new roof with improved furrings and under-gutter vents. The owner has since reported that their upstairs living space is now comfortable, even on the hotter summer days.
This home in Storrs got a complete roof replacement on the house and attached garage. Although the roof was a large project, it was completed in one day. Color: Onyx Black. Call or contact us today for a FREE price estimate! 1-860-563-7661
Along with replacing the roof, we completely removed and replaced the flashing with new lead chimney flashing.
The homeowners of this ranch style home in Storrs, CT reached out to Klaus Larsen because of leaking on the porch.
