There was a good amount of leaking coming in from the weathered flashing of this contemporary style Glastonbury, CT home. The first part we tackled was two layers of tear off, followed by replacing a large amount of plywood decking. The shingles we installed carry a 50-year Lifetime Warranty, so you don't have to be concerned during high winds or rainstorms. The three installed skylights, from Velux, are made from laminated glass that is 'clean, safe and quiet,' so the home stays comfortable and dry inside. We ensured these skylights were sealed in their framing, and ran Ice & Water Shield around all roof penetrations, including the vent boots and chimney.
Here was one roof replacement of many in Glastonbury, CT, which was also a part of our 'Roof Your Neighborhood' initiative. We save money when buying materials in bulk, and can pass those savings on to homeowners when communities opt to roof their homes together. This project entailed a full strip and re-shingle, and all of the old shingles were recycled for asphalt road paving.
This 2,500 square foot roof in Glastonbury needed to be replaced. The old 3-tab shingles were worn and nearing the end of their useful life. Along with the roof, both chimneys were reflashed and the shed got new shingles as well.
This home in Glastonbury had an old 2-layer roof that had algae and lichen growing on the shingles. Our crew tore off and replaced the roof even though it was in the middle of February. Newer shingles are more flexibility in the cold and our roofers adjust the pressure on the nail guns and technic to match the colder weather. We have done dozens of homes in the winter and will continue to give great quality all year long.
This Slatestone Gray roof represents the 75th roof installation that we have done in Glastonbury. We are very grateful to the homeowners who have trusted and continue to trust us with their homes!
