That's a long time for a roof, and the before photo showed black marks and weathering, indicating that it was time for a replacement to ensure the safety and structural integrity of the home.

To transform this roof, our crew undertook an intensive process that not only gave the home a sleek, refreshed look but also provided a durable roof that will protect against leaks and issues for decades to come.

When installing the anti-leak barriers, we at Klaus Larsen Roofing use three different types of sheets. The first is Sealoron XT Deck Tape, a flexible tape that allows the wooden plywood boards to breathe while covering the gaps between them, ensuring no water infiltrates your home.

Next, we apply two different underlayments. The first is the Sealoron XT Ice & Water barrier, which keeps all water out by covering the most vulnerable areas of the roof, including all edges (with a width of 6 feet), eaves, and valleys. This membrane protects these areas from wind-driven rain and water damage.

Lastly, the Velora One Roof Underlayment is installed over the rest of the fresh decking, creating a protective layer between the shingles and the decking. This extremely durable layer guards your roof against the damaging effects of wind-driven rain and water vapor. Even in the most severe weather, it will protect your home if exposed due to a shingle flying off—though that’s unlikely with IKO Dynasty shingles, which come with a 130 MPH wind warranty!

Our crew removed the old roofing system and installed new SealoronXT Deck Tape, VeloraONE Roof Underlayment, and SealoronXT Ice & Water to ensure complete protection. We finished it off with IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Driftshake. In just one day, Simon’s home went from weathered and dull to sharp and refreshed, ready to take on the next few decades. This large one family home located in Griswold, CT was in need of a roof replacement and the homeowners turned to us for help. We began by tearing off one layer of existing roofing materials and disposing of them properly. We then inspected the roof deck and replaced 3 sheets of damaged plywood decking. To ensure protection from the elements, we layed down two rows of Ice & Water Barrier along the roof. In places where there was no Ice & Water Barrier, we installed a Synthetic Underlayment to repel water. For shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System with Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the Charcoal Grey colorway. To finish the job we replaced the vent pipe boot and installed a ridge vent to provide the attic with ventilation. This home is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
